ICU, Day 8

Here is a sedation vacation update from Alex: Noe is getting one step closer to recovery. The MDs are gradually weaning her off the heavy sedatives and she seems to be tolerating it well. The type of sedative she is currently on (Versed) lingers longer in the system than the other sedative Propofol (milk of amnesia). The nurses will keep a close eye on her progress today! Please pray that Noe tolerates the sedation vacation.

Noe's fever remains down and her infection seems to be under control. Let's hope for another 'boring' day in the ICU. At this point, no news is good news! Thank you for your continued support. Please continue to leave comments for Noe and family; Alex will read them to her every day!

"Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear; then your righteousness will go before you, and the glory of the LORD will be your rear guard." Isaiah 58:8

Okay, Noe and Alex, if you can figure out who I am, give me a call. A family member who lives 20minutes away from your old house and who has the time to help out. :-)

May you continue to experience His grace and love.

Noe, Alex, Noah and Luke,

We have been keeping you all very close in our hearts and praying for the strength you need to get through this. You are a wonderful family and your strong faith will lead you past this trying time. May you all rest easy knowing the Lord has you all in his care. He always has a plan, though we may not understand it at the moment.

I questioned it myself when Nate had to have open heart surgery at 7 weeks old. I was desperate for answers to my "whys". With the help of my family , friends and church I put all my trust to God. Even through such a terrible time I always felt surrounded by love and support. A very devastating experience brought new meaning to my life. As you know, Nate now does not miss a beat (literally). I look at him everyday and I am so grateful for him in my life and even for the very experience that had once brought me to my knees. It made me stronger as a person and us stronger as a family.

Noe, I know you will over come this and go back to being the wonderful wife, mother and friend we all adore you for. You are a fighter...keep fighting off the infection!

Alex, Noah and Luke.... we are here if you need anything!

Alex, I came across this today, please share it with Noe.
"The people in one's life are like the pillars on one's porch you see life through. And sometimes they hold you up, and sometimes they lean on you, and sometimes it is just enough to know they're standing by."
Noe, we are all "standing by" and being amazed by your strength and courage.
Sending lots of love,
Audrey, Mark, Kelsey and Riley

Dear Noe,
I am so happy to hear that you are stabilizing, and pray that the news continues to be good! You are so strong and an inspiration to us all. In my recent meditations I came across a statement that stayed with me, "God doesn't tell us 'why' because He wants us to know 'who'. It is so comforting to all of us who love you to know that YOU know 'who' is with you during these difficult times, and that He is your shepherd, is with you, loves you beyond measure, and is with you every step of the way. And I think your loving husband is right there with the two of you always as well! : ) Noe, there are SO many of us praying for you, Alex, and the boys, and cannot wait until you are well enough for us to come visit and help in more 'concrete' ways!!
Love,
Nancy Arreola
