Restless...yet Productive!

Noe had a restless night last night. Today she was settling into the rehabilitation program, having met with the physical, occupational, and speech therapists. Noe passed the swallow assessment today, which means she'll start eating food again soon. She is going to have a day off PT and OT tomorrow to rest. More assessments are scheduled for Monday. The neurosurgeon, Dr. Hunstock, was impressed with Noe's progress, especially the significant reduction of swelling on her brain. The neurosurgeon is hoping to replace the bone flap (skull cap) on January 7th, at the earliest.

With the demanding rehabilitation schedule, the family is still requesting no visitors. The next update will be posted following her assessments on Monday.

Please pray for a restful nights sleep tonight for both Noe and Alex. Also pray that God will continue to restore Noe and give her the mental and physical strength she needs to persevere through rehabilitation.

Please pray for Alex, as he has remained a pillar of strength by Noe's side for over four exhausting weeks. "There are three things that amaze me— no, four things that I don’t understand: how an eagle glides through the sky, how a snake slithers on a rock, how a ship navigates the ocean, how a man loves a woman." Proverbs 30:18,19

"O LORD, I say to you, "You are my God." Hear, O LORD, my cry for mercy. O Sovereign LORD, my strong deliverer, who shields my head in the day of battle-" Psalm 140:6,7

Noe,
God's peace and love to you as you persevere.

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." Matthew 11:28-30

Dear Noe and Family,
I have been praying for you! I attend MOPS at VBC and heard about it through the steering team. your story touched me greatly, as it did for others and it has actually been an encouragement to me to see the obvious faith you have placed on God, and His control in your lives. I pray that God continue to work His healing and that He would constantly renew both of you for the road ahead. many blessings for your family in 2009, catherine k

Continued prayers and good thoughts are being sent for you both! Good news on the continued progress, and recognition of the continued struggles ahead... Alex, you are truly a disciple of the Lord, learning from Him, leaning on Him, and having your life be a testimony to Him. God bless you both.
Love,
Nancy Arreola

Your wonderful friends keeping this blog site for all of us are amazing...the scripture verses are so comforting, and they help us stay 'connected' to both of you!
